Well, I finally made a big break through… It seems someone realizes the potential danger in this crib. Toys R Us discontinued selling it in Babies R Us as of today. A Toys R Us Corporate Customer Satisfaction agent contacted me today saying there was a “stop sale”.
For those of you that do not know my story,,,here it is:
October 09,2007 CPSC came and took my baby's crib for an investigation into this poorly made crib. It is a Wendy Bellissimo Convertable Crib, Made by Bassett in China.
This happened September 20, 2007. My wife and I awoke to my baby, 13 months old at 24 lbs, screaming because her hand was being hit from the front rail. It's obvious the hole was drilled to close to the edge. There are stress cracks on 3 top corners of the crib were the bolts enters. This whole crib could have fell apart.
This has situation occured 34 days ago. I have been on this one man crusade to do something about it. I feel that furniture manufacturers take too long to get the word out... I want this to change..
Mr. Bellissimo contacted me personally about a week ago expressing his sincere concern after he noticed a letter from me on his wifes web page. He was so concerned and I believe he was the one to finally get the wheels turning. As soon as he saw my pictures he knew there was a problem and decided something had to be done. Finally.
I know some people don’t watch the news because we are on the computer too much. Maybe this will help those people like me…
