Lightbulb Prenatal Ultrasounds. Are they really safe?

When I was pregnant with my second child, my husband and I finally did some research on the subject, so I ended up canceling my 20weeks u/s and telling my ob that I wouldn't have any more ultrasounds and doplers without true medical necessity.
Once again, I wish I knew when I was pregnant with my son
