I wholeheartedly believe the internet can be dangerous but I think that if you have to put the computer in open areas and have all passwords and only your child to go online when you're home, then there is higher chance or your child wanting to look up forbidden things.

I'd rather have my child looking up porn in the privacy of his room than out having sex.

But I think it's amazing at how responsible kids can be if you give them the chance. With the way computers are used for schoolwork these days I couldn't fathom not having a computer in my child's room.
