As you have experienced, however, it is possible to get an exemption from vax requirements.

The exemption requirements vary by state (Google the name of your state with "vaccination exemption"). All permit medical exemptions so kids with medical issues don't have to be forced to get the vax. But usually the standard for a medical exemption is high, and a parent may have to try a few docs before finding one who agrees.

Most states also permit other grounds for exemption, including philosophical.
