Sharing an apartment and a dorm room are two different scenarios. In an apartment people typically have their own bedroom and take turns using a bathroom. A dorm room is basically a small bedroom where 2 people share cramped living quarters. The bathrooms are usually large and shared by many at the same time. I couldn't imagine sharing such an intimate space, in a plutonic relationship with a guy, even a close friend. And the thought of showering, shaving my legs, brushing, flossing, etc. with a mixed company of bathroom buddies doesn't sit well either. I wouldn't feel comfortable getting dressed in front of a guy "friend". DH and I were talking about this last night. I asked him what he thought, and at first he didn't think it was a big deal until our kids came into mind. Then I asked, "How would you feel about a plutonic female roommate noticing your morning wood?!" Judging by the face he made, he didn't like the thought. I had a very close guy friend in college, and if we had shared a room we most definitely would have become more than friends, at the very least, friends with benefits. LOL! I just don't think it's a good idea.
