I actually forgot a kid in the house once, I only got as far as starting the car though. There were 3 adults (my cousin, my ex-hubby and me) with 7 kids and we were trying to get everyone in the cars to go to Easter. I did the count in the house and then when I got in the car and got it started I thought I would do the count again and we were missing one. I went in the house and there was my niece in here car-seat on the living room floor. I felt horrible, but from then on I do counts about 2-3 times before we leave anywhere.
