I don't see a problem with it. My first job was at a daycare (loved it!) and I was in no way "qualified" (I am certified to do CPR since I'm in nursing school) but the kids loved me and I did a good job. I think as long as there are qualified people around there's no reason to not have a few "helpers" that aren't.
