ITA that the parents should have been held accountable. What were they thinking? If some 27 year old was wanting to hang out with my 13 year old, no matter the genders, I would have some serious issues, and I'd be putting my foot down in one big hurry. Once my kid is 18 or older, I don't care about the age difference (seeing as how DH is 18 years older than I am!!), but before that, anything over 2 yrs difference is going to raise my radar.
