For many years I was, more-or-less, anti-religion because of things like this, but as I sorted through it, I came to a better understanding that it is "fundamentalism" within any religion that is the cancer, not the religion. In the case of FLDS, this means adult men decide the fate of young girls who are born to parents that are member a fringe/fundamentalist branch of FLDS. Adult woman who join of their free will are making a choice to spiritually marry a man who already has other wives, young girls are not given a choice, they are told "God has spoken" and they are to do what God has commanded of them. A 13-14 year old girl has no options when that has been her life from day one. She does have options, she is just not aware of what those other options are.
