The tubes would be draining so it has to be something else. Take her to the pediatrician if the fever persists becuase she might have a bug." So I waited and waited and then it happened again and we found out it WAS an ear infection. The Ped gave her the floacin drops for her ears, an antibotic, and zyrtec for allergys this time. However, Viv doesn't seem to have any sign of allergys so I don't know. I guess I am just going to have to keep taking her until they figure it out. It's just so frustrating to watch your baby wake up in the morning EVERYDAY and 20 mins later she has a fever. The nurses at the dr's office and the dr's are looking at me in amazement which makes me very uneasy because if these professionals don't understand it how am I supposed to? I just want the best for her and I just wish there was someone out there that could say "Hey I have been through this and my kid is 4 now and she just grew out of it and is much better."
I know what you mean. I sometimes wonder if I should have my PhD. I went to the ER with my daughter because I knew she had strep. They wanted to put an IV in her arm and give her fluids because that is the "norm" to do to sick people. I said "before you do that could you test her for strep?" Sure enough it was strep. I knew as soon as I could get her fever down she would be hydrated so the huge needle that would have freaked my daughter out was not needed. The Dr came in and said "I guess you are a better clinician then I am" Duhhhhh
Go with your mommy gut ALWAYS! If they insist on something ask for proof. That is YOUR child. Do your homework on everything, get on the computer and research several different websites and educate yourself on everything child.
Hope she is better soon!
