Default SuperBad

A buddy and I went to see Superbad over the weekend. I was entertained, but is not nearly as good as Dazed and Confused and few other teenage films (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Valley Girl, The Sure Thing, American Graffiti, Better off Dead).

What was clear about Superbad was that the producers wanted it to be as close to NC-17 they could get. My guess is the early cuts of the film were NC-17, and they had to start watering it down to get a R rating. I am sure the DVD version will clearly be the NC-17 version not releases in theaters.

It will become that one movies that every teenage boy for the next 10 years will see despite the objections of his parents, just like teenage boys manage to watch a few porn movies without their parents knowledge.
