Children: 4 Year Old Daughter
Default Woman who gave gin to granddaughter ...

Why the heck agree to babysit in the first place?? What is wrong with people? Ugh!

A Hennepin County judge sentenced Joanne DeLoach to 30 days of electronic home monitoring for giving gin to her granddaughter.

Bloomington Police say DeLoach was babysitting the eight-year-old girl last September. But it was DeLoach's 47th birthday and she wanted to go out and celebrate.

So police say DeLoach made the third-grader drink two glasses of gin. She diluted them with water because the girl complained of the taste.

The girl eventually vomited, hit her head on the table and struck the left side of her face.

Police arrived about nine hours after the girl was given her first drink. Authorities say her blood-alcohol level was still at .04, which is half the legal driving limit for an adult.

DeLoach was charged with child endangerment and convicted.

A judge sentenced her Thursday morning to electronic home monitoring. She was also given a two-year stayed sentence.
