I ritually took them and my son doesn't get sick often. But I think it doesn't have to do with that. Pre-natals are helping your body and the additional body that's inside of you because you have 'more body' to take care of.

Do you/did you have pets? My niece and nephew get sick ALL OF THE TIME and I think it has a lot to do with having pets.
