I would definately not attend the funeral for a couple of reasons. 1. That is not your husband's family anymore. As you said, it's his son's family...not his. 2. They weren't close anyway, so what would be the point of going? Instead, I would send a nice bouquet of flowers to the funeral home as an act of condolences.
