I don't believe that, but it makes sense to me why there are large populations who do. People are allowed to speak and protest for what they believe in, and when it's about religion...it's not a big deal; everyone's right, let's be open minded. Fooser, I'm just a new member here, but I can understand the reason the mods keep stressing this isn't the debate forum. Things can easily get heated and you seem to have the personality that thrives on a bit of heated discussion. Nothing good or bad in that. Just stating the facts as I see 'em.
As far as the bible CLEARLY stating homosexuality is wrong? Well, that's not quite true. The bible in its current translation and common interpretation states homosexuality is wrong. Speaking as someone who's done a fair amount of bible study and has an interest in bible history, remember that English wasn't the original language of the bible. And really, for the most part, the bible is a book of Christianity. Christianity is the faith that follows the teaching of Jesus Christ. And never ONCE did JESUS say homosexuality is wrong. He never once addressed it. It was Paul in his letters that touches on "homosexuality", but when one looks back at the original translation, the word used wasn't what we'd see as homosexuality today. The custom he was actually condemning was that of the Romans and their customs of taking young boys and forcing sexual acts upon them, NOT the consenting acts of adults. But words got lost in the translations from language to language AND in the thoughts of whatever faith leaders of those times felt.
