There are also medical uses for Marijuana. My point was to illustrate that the original justification was not based on studies and legitimate reasons, it was made illegal because a few racist people wanted to suppress the Hispanic population because the use of Marijuana was a big part of the Hispanic culture
at that time. I haven't smoke Marijuana since my college days, so I am not some closet smoker with a Marijuana agenda.
Of course pregnant women should refrain from taking all non medical drugs, smoking, and drinking just to be on the safe side. Not condemning those who do, just saying it is far better not to; just common sense.
