My dd is 4 (5 in 2 weeks) and she's seen the first 2 Harry Potter recently, but she'll have to wait on the rest. I'm a big Harry Potter fan but after the 2nd one they get a little to grown up for her. The Scream movies are scary but they aren't really over the top, but like Kaytee said it really depends on the kids.
