I don't have any problems with the Day of Silence. It's sponsored by a LGBT group. so of course it focuses on discrimination and bullying against people of those orientations. If other groups want to be represented by this event, then they should join with the national group which sponsors it.

Our local high school takes part in this program every year, and I am proud that they do. My older two children have always taken part, and this will be the first year for my youngest daughter. Those who are participating wear t-shirts, and hand out pamphlets to those who ask why they are not speaking.

I think if other people want a DOS for their discriminated against group they need to get the word out and have one, no one is stopping them.
