Thank you. It's knida hard for me to push one religion with a Buddhist brother, athiest Father, one of their Godmothers is Wiccan, the other undecided, one Godfather Catholic, the other undecided (yes they have four Godparents), and my mother practicing the beliefs of the Commanche tribe LOL! One thing we have in common is we all love them.

Benefits of home schooling are found in multitudes if you have the right teacher! Your child lose the socialization time and skills by homeschooling, but gain a greater education. you have the ability to expand on education, have more direct instruction time. Homeschool kids are often protected and sheltered and when they leave home for the first time, they sometimes experience problems dealing with other kids. I homeschool my kid for the first three years then send him out to school to learn how to socialize.

I socialize mine by involving them in activities.

Out of curiosity, I was wondering if some of you lived in one of the great school systems would you still choose to homeschool?

I'd love for my children to attend school in Radnor Township, but the housing in that school district is . I would just feel like a hypocrite not sending my kids to public school because I went to public schools, and I'm *intending* to teach at the public school level.

Go to a charter school Penn. Or at least try to. THats what we plan to do. Charters are public schools. They are justran more like privates. Not all of them make you were uniforms either.

If I lived in one of the better districts I don't think the problems leading to me homeschooling would have happened so no I probably wouldn't. I discovered I love it though.

Well, since curriculum is one of my big issues w/ the public schools no, I probably wouldn't send them. I'm stubborn that way.

My first year teaching was in a city school where many of the teachers there sent their own children to private schools or made sure their children were in the gifted program. Not a real big vote of confidence for the district.
