At a loss - Daycare Dilemna
Education Discuss At a loss - Daycare Dilemna in the General Parenting Forums forums; I agree with everyone else. That is cruel. I am also wondering how he gets him to sit there too? You have every right to go and talk to them ... | | |

You have every right to go and talk to them about this. Let them know how you feel. As a daycare provider they should listen to you and what you think is best for your child. If they don't then I would find someone else.

 | Re: At a loss - Daycare Dilemna | | Thanks all. My biggest concern is how on earth is this guy getting my son to just sit there. As far as I know, not in a crib. If he's strapping my son in or poking him with needles as a form of "conditioning" then I may just go ballistic. No need in ringing up the authorities because there won't be enough pieces left. |

I doubt if they even have registration as child care providers.

Children: Athena 3.5 yrs, Celestine 1 yr | Re: At a loss - Daycare Dilemna | | 45 mins is a long time for a baby to remain without activity.
I do heard of some childcare that keep kids busy with this length of time with TV though, which is something that I cannot identify with. It is simply irresponsible...
It is really something you should talk to them about and understand more. |

  | Re: At a loss - Daycare Dilemna | | Have you randomly dropped in during the day to check out what's going on? I would make it a point to show up unexpectedly and make sure that your son is being attended to and stimulated the way you expect him to be. If not, you should have a detailed discussion w/ the day care people regarding your observations.
As far as forcing him to sit for 45 min....I'm appalled. As a mother of 3, one of which is a 10 month old, I can't imagine making him sit for longer than 5 min. Even meal time is a project! He should be allowed to explore and practice his new crawling/cruising skills and learn about his environment on his own terms.
I would definitely stop by unexpectedly and have a frank discussion regarding your feelings and beliefs and take him out if they don't see eye to eye with you. |
