Good Morning Everyone.

First of all we need to get comfortable with the Musical Alphabet:

A B C D E F G *(memorize)

Notice there are 7 letters, that will repeat (like this)

A B C D E F G, A B C D E F G, A B C D E F G etc.

Also, memorize them backwards:

G F E D C B A

As piano is a C based instrument, we need to learn it like this:

C D E F G A B (C)

We will now number our fingers:

1 2 3 4 5 (thumbs are #1 in both right and left hand)

Now we need to find C on the piano, notice that the black keys are in groups of 2, and 3...find any group of 2. There are 3 white notes that surround them. Those notes are C D E.



Find all the C's on your piano and play them. The white note above is D followed by E. Place your right hand 1 on C, 2 on D, 3 on E

First basic song: (for now we will just use the finger numbers)

1 2 3 _ 1 2 3_ 1 2 3 2 3 2 1 _

(the _ means to hold that note longer than the others)

Here's some more:

try making up your own

Now place your Left hand thumb on C, and try the above songs. (the notes you will be playing are C B A)

I used to play a guitar when I was 17-19, nothing fancy, just basic stuff. I quit when I was 19, but I would love to get back to shape
