Children: Nichole
Default Re: Something I saw on the news

yay I think I heard that too. think of all the wasted time kids do "read in your seats" and things like that. Not a crack on our teachers either. Its just they have to cater to all children and all learning styles. At least the good teachers do anyways. It's just that they have to make sure the kids who don't learn as quickly are picking things up while the kids who do learn quickly fall behind. Vicious cycle, and a 10 hour school day will just make it worse

I know the schools in our area are getting pretty crazy with hours, when I went to school we were out by 3 or 3:30... Now I know some of the elementary schools are on till 4:30 even 4:45(they have a half day wed. out at 12:30)... I think the high school even lets out before they do... I'm new to the whole school thing my daughter will start pre-k this year... She will go from 1:15 to about 4:45 by the time the bus gets here it will be at least 5:00 in winter it dark by 5:30 I think that is a little late for school to be going on I thought it would be like 12:30 to about 3:30..... I'm going to have to look into it more in my area!!!!!
