 | Re: Is there a Santa Claus? | | For my family, we do the whole thing - Santa, Easter Bunny, etc. My brothers and sisters and I all were brought up with that same "magic" in the holiday season. It made it a LOT more fun and exciting. When we finally figured out it wasn't true, none of us got upset because we were "lied" to. It was fun while it lasted. |

Children: One boy 8, twin girls 7. | Re: Is there a Santa Claus? | | There is hardly any magic left in this world and it seems like life and the world tries and take happy things away from children. I will always let them believe in Santa and angels and God. Nothing wrong with faith and a little bit of magic. I don't know about ya'll but faith is what's pulled me through life so far.
When they grow up they can make their own choices. They have been taught about other religions and beliefs and to respect others for their differences. In our home we will always say God bless you and Merry Christmas |

Children: 1 girl, 3 years old | Re: Is there a Santa Claus? | | It seems that these days it's even less "cool" to believe in Santa than ever before. Why is that? It's an indirect result of parents taking away the magic of Christmas for their children by telling them Santa isn't real. I cannot fathom having gone through my own childhood and not believing. To this day I distinctly remember hearing a thud and the chime of bells on my roof on Christmas eve when I was 7. That's how real Santa was to me. It wasn't a child's overactive imagination, I truly HEARD it. A childhood with no Santa would be a very sad one. |
