Children: 4 Year Old Daughter | CDC: U.S. Seeing Worst Measles Outbreak In 6 Years | | Eeeeeeeeeeeeek!!! ATLANTA (AP) ― Measles outbreaks in several states have led to more than 70 cases so far this year, the worst in six years, health officials said Thursday. Most of the cases have been traced to outbreaks overseas and are mainly in children who were not vaccinated for religious or other reasons or were too young, according to the Centers for Disease control and Prevention. Since measles vaccinations began in the early 1960s, cases have dramatically declined in the U.S. So far this year, the CDC has confirmed reports of 64 cases in nine states. There were no deaths, but 14 people were hospitalized, said CDC spokesman Curtis Allen. .... Of the 64 cases reported to the CDC as of last week, 63 were unvaccinated or it wasn't known if they were vaccinated. cbs11tv.com - CDC: U.S. Seeing Worst Measles Outbreak In 6 Years; Vaccinations Urged

Children: Nichole | Re: CDC: U.S. Seeing Worst Measles Outbreak In 6 Years | | well she is vaccinated, just not completely. Its easy. Measles is 99% chance of not harming in her in any way other then giving her a lifetime immunity to it. The vax on the other hand has about a 50/50 shot of harming her does not give her a lifetime immunity. This may not be true for all children. My daughter has much higher risk fo being harmed by vaccines then other children. So to me her getting hte disease is better then her getting the shot |

Children: Nichole | Re: CDC: U.S. Seeing Worst Measles Outbreak In 6 Years | | yep that could be true. Howeverm the MMR gives you false security. Do you plan on making sure your child is vaccinated with the MMR shot ever 4 years for the rest of their lives. To make sure they still have some prtotection. Thats not even guerneteed there. Oh and we were just talking to her doc when we went for the weight check and the shot costs 450 bucks. INsurance wil not pay it once the child is 18. I have had my titers tested for it (requirement for ruebella to get married in Indaina). I have had the MMR 3 times in my life and 2 extra times with ruebella only. I have no immunity to any of them. |
