I took her to the doctor on Tuesday and she has severe ear infections. The doctor said after her hip surgery she is going to refer us to a specialist to see about her ears and allergy testing. Just what she needs is more doctors. We are just praying she will be healthy enough for the surgery next week.

Children: Nichole | Re: Hip Dysplasia | | If her ears are that bad, wouldn't they want to put tubes in? Then tehy could do the tubes and the hips at the same time. Not that I am a fan of putting tubes in kids ears either, but it seems they just keep putting this poor baby off and as she gets older it will be harder for her to handle the body casts.
Good luck and I will pray for your daughter that she feels better soon |

Said her ears are not totally healed but ALOT better than the other day. The doc did say that we are going schedule an appointment with a specialist after she is through her surgery. She did mention maybe Kenna would have to have tubes in her ears. I haven't done too much research on it yet(but I will very soon). My brother and I both had them when we were young. Just what Kenna needs is more things for us to worry about.

Children: Nichole | Re: Hip Dysplasia | | I would personally take her to the ear people first. If she needs tubes, then they wil lput her under anestesia. Might as well do both at the same time as her hips. Then you don't have to do it twice ya know/ |

The ear specialists will only be about 30 minutes. The reason for the drive for the hip is because in the whole state of Illinois there is only 2 pediatric orthopedics.

Children: Nichole | Re: Hip Dysplasia | | oh I believe you that there are not many in the area when it comes to the hip. I would ask though. You might be able to get the ear doc that knows someone at the hospital that would do the ears as well. Of course that is if she even needs tubes put in. Just a sugestion. Wouldn't hurt to try yk? |

Kenna had her surgery and the day after was just horrible! She started having muscle spams and was in so much pain. I started crying and my husband started second guessing ourselves. Thinking maybe we shouldn't have put her through it. But as soon as she smiled the next day he knew we did. It was rough and still is some but she is doing good. Its funny I feel like a new parent all over again. I had to learn how to change her diaper and everything. Well, its been a week and it is getting easier. Here are a few picture's of her.
