Children: Taylor, Kylee, Emylee, Kenna | Hip Dysplasia | | I will start by telling our story. My 14 months old daughter has hip dysplasia or dislocated hip or CDH or DDH. We found out at a couple months ago. When she first started walking her foot turned out which made us notice her left leg was shorter than her right. I took her to her pediatrician who took x-rays to confirm it was DDH. We were referred to a pediatric orthopedic who schedule an open reduction surgery on Dec. 5th. He said there is a posibility they will have to cut her pelvic and femur bone also (osteotomy). Then she will be put in a spica (body) cast for 4 months.
As most parents of babies with this I am doing my research on it. I have joined a couple hip-baby groups online which has helped tremendously. I was just wondering if maybe someone on here has dealt with it or know of someone who has or is.
