Default Re: Overweight kids

Definitely!! I'm lucky that I have 3 very active children. They all love to move about and be doing something that isn't just sitting in front of the telly. They love to go to the park and play in the garden. Although I think half the problem is also the eating habits of some children these days. When I was younger, my Mum would only allow me and my 3 siblings chocolate once a week on a saturday night, while it sounds mean, actually it made us think of sweets and chocolate as more of a special treat than something we should eat all the time.

While I don't think you should completely cut junk food out of a childs diet, alot of kids definitely eat too much. I know kids that aren't allowed any at all, and when they do eat it, at parties or school, they go totally crazy and hyper. I try to give my kids a healthy diet because I don't want them to end up with a weight problem and it sets them up well for later life if they already have a healthy diet now.

I think kids these days are overweight. I think they eat to much fast food and they need to eat more fruits and home cooked meals if possible. It's only better for them later down the road.

I have the opposite problem. One of my kid always never finish his food. He eats too little and is not adventurous with food. Any ideas or resources that you all can recommend?

Just variety. Offer new things all the time. He eventually will try it or not. Not sure what else you could do. Maybe someone else can give better ideas lol
