Children: 4yo girl 1yo boy | Re: poor baby | | I'm sorry you two are having to deal with that. DD takes albuterol breathing treatments on occasion. I do not like the stuff myself and reserve it for when she really is having difficulty. It makes her really hyper and her hands shake. Usually about half way through the treatment she'll say am I done? I dont think she likes it either. Hopefully Logan wont need too many treatments. I think I missed the begining of this problem. Poor baby and mommy. We hate to see our kids not feel well.

Children: DD (10) and DS (12) | Re: poor baby | | {{{HUGS}}} Both my kids have allergy induced asthma and need albuterol every now and then. It can make them hyper and cause rapid heart beat, but my kids seem to be used to it now.
My DS is allergic to cats, and we have two in the house. Each person's allergies have different levels of sensitivity, but my DS is OK as long as he has a HEPA air cleaner in his bedroom and keeps the cats out of there. He also takes Claritin. |

Children: One boy 8, twin girls 7. | Re: poor baby | | My daughters have been on albuteral several times. It does make them hyper. I personally didn't think it did much. I just had a UV light put in our air conditionar that is supposed to kill any germs, pollen, mold, pet dander and such. Maybe you can check into one of those? |

When you say allergy induced asthma have both kids had allergy testing? The scratch test specificly. My dd had this type of allergy testing done and the only things she showed a reaction to were Mulberry and Olive trees. Or is it more evironmental dust type allergy. I trying to better understand this whole allergy induced asthma concept. I feel at his point in my case that dd is getting medication for something that could be controled with behavior modification. Such as washing hands more, eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, getting regular exercise, and not buying in to her "i have asthma" nonsense. In her case I feel like its an attention thing. Of course if I see her struggling to catch her breath or hear wheezing thats a different story. This type of thing RARELY happens and it usually follows a sinus cold. Your thoughts?
