I htink you are doing what you feel is best them. Vaccinating because you feel it is needed (and you are EDUCATED) to me is perfectly fine, it is your decision. Vaccinating blindly because you think its best, is just WRONG

so what? I never claimed that this is the only cause of SIDS. We don't discuss her child in this thread, but the danger of vaccines.

I disagree.

In a perfect world, parents would have enough information and education to understand the basics behind VPDs and vax. But in the real world most parents have to rely on some other authority for guidance, such as their pediatrician, the CDC, or random internet people.

And what level is "educated" any way? When you the complications of VPDs and common risks with vaxes? When you read the ingredients list of all the vaxes you kid is scheduled to get ahead of the visit and research the metabolism, purpose, and possible side effect of each ingredient? When you know the trends in incidence of VPDs in the US since the introduction of vaxes? Most parents lack the time or background to understand all this and must rely on their ped/FP for guidance. It's not "just wrong". They are doing the best they can by their kids and relying on someone they trust.

In scanning over this threat... I think it is up to each one of us, as a parent, to make the choices that we feel is right for our child... one persons educated may be anothers educated ... and for every test that says something is bad ... theres 3 more tests to say its good. Testing is blanket .. every body is different and every body reacts different. There is no "one way"

you are right there is no one way, and not every child is going to be effected negativly. BUT for doctors to tell parents that vaccines are safe... that is wrong. They are not safe, MANY children get sick and or die from vaccines. Parents NEED to know that these are risks they are taking. Then if they feel it is still best to vaccinate, by all means!

no it is a parents JOB to understand the concepts and then use them. Parents should educate themselves on many things that are VERY important to a childs life and wellfare. Breastfeeding, vaccines, circ, infant nutrition (into solids), child nutrition, and so on It is not just something to blindly go into. Any parent who thinks otherwise will have serious trouble on their hands. You don't have to know EVERYTHING about everything to make an informed choice. I don't know much about vaccines in terms of what some other people do. I can tell you that my child had a SEVERE reaction to one. THey still want to vaccinate her with it though, because to them one child is not important, the whole is. I get that. BUT it is not my job to protect the world, it is my job to protect my child. I am sick of people trying to scare me into vaccinating. (and I do vaccinate still, just selective and delayed), I am sick of being threatened by the government, it is ridiculous.
It is a parents job to do what they feel is best for their child. To do it in an educated manor, not in a "but my ped said so..."
