We went and looked at the Mercury Sable and I really like it! It's been there a while though, so I am a little leary? But...wagons just aren't that popular. My husband doesn't like it, but I do.
My husband wants to get another Toyota Camry. And although I'd like to as well, I'd really like to get something bigger than that. I'd rather have a hatch or back door instead of a trunk. There are times we just can't fit everything in the car especially when you have a stroller.
I told him maybe we'll look at the Chevy Blazer? A friend of mine had a really nice one, and my dad has one, and I don't recall them ever having any issues with them.
My husband likes the Jeep Loredo's. They are nice, but I just don't know....
BTW, my husband LOVES Honda, and while I don't dislike them, I don't think I could own one. Reason being...I come from a UAW family. My father retired from International, my brother works there, my cousin works there and my uncle is retired from Chrysler. |

My only quarrel with a bigger vehicle is gas...I really need something that's good on gas. But we'll see what happens. My car is a Chevy Cavalier which I think my husband is going to start using....? At least he is for now....he doesn't like the rental car <haha>. The Cavalier is GREAT on gas, but, it's getting older, has a lot of issues, and it's just sooooo small...when you have 3 kids crammed in the backseat. |

Children: Savannah and Hunter | Re: Buying a car | | First, I'm glad that your husband it okay. Thank God for that.
However, I'm one of those that has only had Japanese cars. I had a Toyota 4Runner and now, a Lexus GX470. They're built the same on the same drive train, but one is a luxury vehicle. I'm also in the market for a car, so I'll tell you everything I've looked and text drove so far. I'm 5'7" (barely) and 135 lbs on a good day, so a good car for me, is a good car for a woman.
To be honest with you, I'm thinking about going back to the 4Runner or downsizing to the Lexus Hybrid. You might pay a little more for a 4Runner, but in terms of SUVs it keeps it's value like no other. When I got the insurance check for my 4Runner, it was still worth $21,000. You'd never hear someone say anything bad about the 4Runner, it's truly a great car.
I was looking at the Mercedes M class and GL class, but they're made in Alabama (not good) and I've been told that the M class has had major issues.
Another car I've looked at is the Honda Pilot. Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. The only hold up for me is that is just screams, "Hi, my name is Julie, and I'm the worlds best soccer mom. Like ever!" No offense to anyone named Julie or soccer moms. It's a Honda, so you know you're getting quality. It has a 5 star crash rating, airbags galore, and it seats up to 8. It's definitely a car to look at.
Another I looked at was the GMC Acadia, it's not necessarily a car nor an SUV. It's a "crossover" and it's really designed as a family vehicle. I like it, except I disliked the huge skylight. Instead if a wagon, I would encourage you to look at a crossover type vehicle.
From a styling standpoint, American cars blow, hard. But Ford is definitely coming back strong, they have some great looking cars.
If you want something good on gas, get either the Mercury Mariner or Ford Escape Hybrid. They look great and they have excellent gas mileage. Plus, you get a tax break. |

And the Jeep Commander is also a nice car.
I don't know what you have at your disposal, but Mercedes has a diesel based SUV. The GL320 and I absolutely love it.
One of the things about buying a Mercury, or a Lexus, or a Toyota is the service is so much better. Lexus is the best selling luxury brand because of the quality for one, and the service is the best in the industry.
And what about the tried and true Ford Explorer?

I was thinking of looking at the Ford Escape hybrid because I need an economically sound car gaswise.
