It might be a bit of a long shot but ...
ancestry.com allows you to fill in as much of your family tree as you know. You can make this information public and this is where the cool part comes in ... if names in your tree match up with other names other users have entered in their trees, it will allow you to link family trees. I had a name match on my maternal grandfather's name but it was not the same person. However as the site grows and gets more data, the more likely you'll be to get a match sometime in the future.
