Default How are you cooking your turkey?

How are you cooking your turkey this year? Brine, 2 Hour Turkey recipe, Deep Fry, Roast, other? I'm thinking of brining my turkey for the first time this year.

This year, everyone is coming to our place—eek! So we have two “turkeys”…a tofurkey (tofu turkey?) and a…turkey…since several of the sibs’ are vegetarians… I’m letting Austin deal with the tofu “bird,” and I’m messing with the real thing—what I’m doing, exactly, is entirely unknown. *grin* Right now, it looks as though I am burning it. Yay.

I believe my mom is cooking it the same way she has as long as she's hosted Thanksgiving - Roasting Pan, Slow Roast, Frequent Basting. It's always delicious.

I've heard, however, that deep fried turkey is delicious. I keep meaning to try it, but that's a LOT of oil to waste on one bird.

I've been wanting to do that for awhile now but since my MIL is always the one to make the turkey, we haven't gotten around to it yet. We may have to try it some other time, not a holiday.

My MIL roasts hers in the oven. She makes some home made stuffing (YUM!) and some stove top... lots of other things. I love her down home cooking.

I'm not. Just the four of us this year and none of us care for turkey. We're having ham.
