He'll catch on pretty quickly. Now I can tell my two lets go outside to potty and they go! LOL and if they are fooling around instead of using the bathroom I just remind them "go potty" and they will. Which is kind of weird to me..I wouldn't be able to go to the bathroom just because someone told me to...lol

Children: 4 Year Old Daughter | Re: I want a puppy... talk me out of it! | | Thanks Sky!
I've been taking her out at least once every 30 minutes and she just wants to sit at my feet or bark at the pomeranians on the other side of the fence. Sigh She has even gone pee right after we got back inside. Each time she has gone inside, we both give a sharp loud "NO" then I take her directly out. I think she's just gotta make the connection and as smart as she is, I'm hoping that it won't take too long. I am anxiously awaiting to able to give some big praise for that moment when she decides to use the grass.
We just got back from the petstore and it's a good thing she was free! LOL I will be getting her into their puppy obedience training class pretty soon and I figure that will be a great thing for Dd to come and watch (and participate if possible.)
A quick rant:
As we are standing in line waiting to check out some lady comes walking her dog past us close enough to allow my dog to eat hers. Luckily, I was aware of what was going on and saw what was coming so that I could pull him up and grab him quick enough. What are people thinking? Have some common sense lady!! (Anywho, I now see that we are going to need some dog socialization.)
... and btw, we didn't even get into the store before we got our first compliment on him. hehehe

All this talk and pictures of dogs really makes me want one. Too bad we already have two cats in the house and my husband hates dogs. Maybe if I get him to look at the cute pics too, he'll change his mind. |

Yep, Dd is happy and she is doing well with him.
Brodie is doing great, Dd and I walk him each day after work (and try to in the morning as well) and she really gets a kick out of that. Last night we were playing with his rope toy in the back yard and found that he loves to grab up the rope and run in large circles around the yard at full speed.. so cute!
He's also really doing well at not barking at the obnoxious, constantly barking dogs in the adjoining yard. (I think they are getting annoyed at how much time we are spending in the back yard because they actually have to finally let their barking dogs in the house and spend time with them.)
