My mom has always been a huge fan of Yorkies. Currently though, she has a short hair chihuahua and a teacup maltese.

About the being gone all day issue..The biggest problem with that is potty training. If you got a slightly older pup..around 6 months..their bladders are bigger and they have more control over them. If they get a good walk/romp in the morning before you leave..a pup should be more than content to nap all day..and then another good walk/romp when you get home. It's a really little pup I would worry about. You can also get "educational" toys for dogs and put it in their crate to keep them mentally stimulated.

Right before my divorce the ex got a pit pup and all I heard was "If anything is ever to happen to Dd... tsk tsk tsk"

Well ya know what? My pit is recommended for children, your chihuahua on the other hand is not. Argh!

I would feel horrible crating a dog all day, I would prefer to let them run in the back yard - but then there is the texas heat to worry about (and the lonliness)

I will figure this out at some point dang it!!!

I looked high and low for a bull terrier (before GW and I got together) - they are so hard to find for adoption or re-homing.... GW thinks they are too funny looking though.

He loves German Shephards, I was thinking more along the lines of Lab or Boxer.

btw, Sky - check out this cutie!
