You should join the Blockbuster Online club...they would have it there I'm sure. :-) |

jtee, do you ask your DD's friend's parents permission for their kids to watch such movies? I would be very upset if my kids were watching R movies at houses of friends unbeknownst to me. I respect your decision concerning your child, but there are parents who think R movies are inappropriate for kids under 17. | Trina, my wife handles all details of when we have girls spend the night and she checks with the parents before hand about any of movies they watch. I believe 1-2 of the girls had seen some or all of the Scream movies. I haven't watched them in a couple of years and I can't recall why they were rated R. My wife handled it and I didn't know what they were watching until I started hearing screaming from downstairs. I could tell it wasn't real screaming like they were in trouble or hurt, just the kind girls make when they watch scary movies.
Some parents are much more restrictive than we are about movies, we do let our daughter watch R movies if we have seen them. Off hand, I can't think of a DVD movie we have we don't allow our daughter to watch. She has little interest in R movies because they don't have kids or furry animals. It probably only in the last year she has become interested in movies targeting teenagers such as the Scream movies. We have 500+ movies in our personal library and none of them are off limits to her. Most she could care less about.

Right now if it isn't G rated I watch it first before I allow her to watch it. Now I understand she's only 4 but the same rule will apply as she gets older

Children: Jill born Jan 12, 1996 | The Exorcist | | I would be reluctant to let my daughter watch The Exorcist. I actually think is a one of the best horror movies I have seen, I just think it might be a tad too scary for her right now because the possessed girl in the movie is 12. The Scream movies are a scary kind of fun for teens and some pre-teens, while The Exorcist is very much intended to be true horror for adults, not teens. |

Children: Jill born Jan 12, 1996 | The Exorcist | | A few years ago they added new scenes that were cut from the original movie, you think the original Exorcist was scary, they take it a new level of scary. Most of the new scenes are with Regan (the 12 year old) being possessed and saying things that couldn't be said in a movie back in 1973. Even by today's standards it is pretty chilling. |
