OK, so this is our first Christmas as a married couple and I'd like to do something fun together. I was thinking we'd get away for a couple of days to somewhere. Like, we took a 2 day trip to Niagara Falls a couple of years ago and it cost like $200 (plus gas and food). I'm looking for something similar to that...someplace within driving distance of Cleveland (Niagara is 5 1/2 hour away) that we can go and have a good time that won't kill our bank account. Any suggestions?

Keokuk (Nobody ever comes to visit.)  You can spend a mint. You can spend nothing. Its more about the time. The falls sound nice. Me and DW have not been anywere alone since DS was born.

Are you taking your Daughter? Do you have a winter centre near by? Where they turn a wooded area into a Christmas wonder land, with Santa, elves, reindeer etc and there are little cabins for people to stay over for a couple of nights. | ||

No, our daughter is staying at home. I like the idea of the cabins...ironically, I was just looking at them, and still have a browser window open! Amish Country Ohio Romantic Honeymoon or Anniversary Cedar Cabins Berlin OH

how about Windsor, Ont. or Football Hall of Fame? (Def, not keokuk) Would she like either of those? Maybe research B&Bs and Inns like an hour away or so, doens't matter where, just away. How nice to just be able to sleep in, enjoy a leisurely coffee in the morning, just sit by the fire for a a few hours... | ||

I see you found it. Just don't go for the "true amish experience" unless you want to chop firewood, and carry water in from the well....LOL | ||

Windsor would be fun because we both like to play blackjack. Pro Football Hall of Fame is like an hour from here and I wanted to get a little further away, plus she hates sports.
