I don't know why this struck me as a comical and fun little idea, but I'm thinking... what if we had a contest for the best baby blackmail photo? You know what I'm talking about - you all have one - that picture your mom took of you when you were two, licking the dog in the mouth or with a faceful of raw butter or with a terrible or goofy expression on your face. The one she shows your wife/husband every time you come over for dinner! The one she made you cringe with when she passed it out at your football practice or slumber party.

No nudity, no names or associations, no mean-spirited shots, just post ze funny photos. Especially as the membership gets bigger.

Heh. I'll post mine if you'll post yours!! I don't have any really good blackmail shots of my young'un...yet. He's not a grownup yet.

I'll leave it up to Tom to think of details if he wants to do this at some point. Winner of the contest gets WhoseLineIsItAnyway - style points.

Sounds fun to me! I don't have any baby pics of me though. . But i do have some cute future blackmail of the girl! My DH doesn't have any pics either. His mom might but she lives 6 hours away so no fun for me lol. Anyways I htink it's a great idea and we should just do it!

I'm all for seeing some photos posted ... I don't think anyone has tested out that feature yet (and let me know if it's working or broken).

I keep thinking about the idea of a forum contest ... a lot of forums have a membership drive contest when they're at our stage.

I'd do it. (membership thing) not sure where, but I bet I could PM some of the people I talk to on other boards and see if they are interested. And I'm gonna go post some pics right now! teehee I love seeing my girl on the screen! lol

Hey Heather, do you want to come up with the details for this since it was your idea? Do you want to make it like a funniest picture contest? Or more of an on going photo contests, where at different points we have different contest, like once a week or every other week? Things like cutest pet, or messiest face, or something like that? We could also have everyone send their pic in, and then post all the pics like in a poll type thing, let me know!!

The ideas a cute one, but would we get into the "child pornography" problem? I mean WE know that it wouldn't be for that reason, but if the general public could access them, they might not know it's NOT for that purpose. Just a thought.

We can do limitations on the pic if that would make you (general you), like no naked baby pics. I believe as long as the picture is in good standing, (if walmart will not print the picture then don't post it) it should be fine. There are sickos out there so you have to use your own common sense when posting pics, especially of your kids. I know that quite a few people who post pics of their kids post them with a water mark on them so that others can't steal them. As I said there are many weirdos out there, so you have to make a judgement call on weather or not a picture is appropriate to post on a public message board. Don't give out places where you live, and things like your child wearing a baseball uniform and them give out thier school name, it makes it easy for people to find where you live. Keep it basic is my suggestion.

Wow, good points, all. Indeed, I had thought about the privacy issue; I figured some rules would have to be in place for that...and a little education, too; of things Kaytee mentioned.

While I'd love to take the reins on the organization of this kind of contest, realistically I have to say that I'm probably not going to be able to be on the board often enough to truly manage it. I'll help as I can, though.

Well how about you set it up, let me know how you want it done, since it was your idea and then I will do the running of it for you. That way you don't have to be the one checking in all the time. I am a SAHM so i can periodically check on things throughout the day even if its only for like 3 min. each time lol
