Default Re: Brother and Sister sleeping in the same room?

In this case, I am not so sure the stats mesh with these kids.

it's hard to say though - it's a long process with a bunch of lie detectors and such, so they become more and more honest as they are confronted with their history of lying. Most did not express a history of being a victim. I think it was only one, maybe 2.

I am not their therapist, so I don't discuss those things with them, and our case files on the wings are pretty inconsistent. Maybe some others have admitted to being victims and it didn't make it into their file on the unit. I don't know. But just because nobody in the home has molested teh child, that unfortunately doesn't guarantee it didn't happen elsewhere.

I'd have to say in most families it is definately an unnecessary precaution. Most kids are not going to harm their siblings. but as mentioned, these parents all were all apparently clueless to what is going on (could you imagine sending your kid to a daycare and then learning the son was a convicted child molester?). What surprises me most is that I really like some of these boys. I don't work with those boys often, but when I do I often ear "XYZ is a good kid." None of them would have struck me as being a problem like that. and that's scary to me.

Mindy, I know I've heard about it here in Florida and I posted a phone number that a police officer friend gave me to call. He said it is not considered abuse but that dept would answer the calls. I have a bit of time today so I'llput that on my list to do. I can't promise I'll get to right away. If you call, let me know.
I need a "to do list" I swear. I can never remember the hundred things I need to do.

I have not called that number as I have a cell and don't want to waste minutes lol

I was just looking at Florida laws
Statutes & Constitution :Search Statutes : Online Sunshine
and still can't find anything. Now I was thinking I wonder if htis is a CPS only llaw. Like not a state one. If a parent is called into CPS for whatever reason, there are things that they are no longer "allowed" to do. Like co-sleeping. Its not againstt he law to co-sleep with your child, but CPS will make you have a seperate bed for that child. Of course they can't enforce that or they would have to sepnd the night at your house! lol
