Children: DD (10) and DS (12) | Child Passenger Safety | | Are your kids properly restrained in your vehicles? Are you SURE? Motor vehicle crashes are the No. 1 killer of kids.
Why? In many cases, children are either not properly buckled into their safety seats or parents don’t realize that a booster seat is vital to ensuring children fit safely in their vehicle’s seat belt. Don’t take a chance. Have your child’s safety seat inspected! http://www.seatcheck.org

Children: Hannah, age 6 | Re: Child Passenger Safety | | It is a law here that your child has to be in a booster until they are 4'9" tall. Do other states have similar laws?
Also I think if you take your car/seat to a fire station those guys can also make sure the seats are properly installed. |

Children: DD (10) and DS (12) | Re: Child Passenger Safety | | Car seat laws vary A LOT, and not all of them coincide with current safety recommendations. http://www.iihs.org/laws/ChildRestraint.aspx
Not all police or fire stations have certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians on staff. |

Children: DD (10) and DS (12) | Re: Child Passenger Safety | | GOOD for you for keeping your kids in boosters! Kids are safest in boosters until they are at least 4'9" tall and can pass the 5 Step Test. http://www.carseat.org/Boosters/630.pdf
My DS (11) just recently hit 4'9" and can pass the 5 Step Test. DD (9) is small for her age and will be in a booster for a long time yet. |
