| Kids and Music | | The "kids and queen" post in the General are got me thinking. What kinda music do your kids listen to or let your kids listen to. I listen to rap, hip-hop, and R&B. I for one am not gonna throw that in my young child's face lol for obvious reasons. But what kind of music is good for kids? Is Kidz Bop good? I think ti could be since it is edited and kids sing the songs. But whats your opinion? |

Children: 1 Child | Re: Kids and Music | | We play everything for my son, mainly classical though, but he enjoys any kind of music. On the odd occasion we will put on his disney music cd for him.
He also has a Baby Genius DVD and CD with the seasons. It displays children playing in parks, running on the beach etc, etc, but all the music is classical.
My husband and I listen to absolutely everything, but firmly beleive that classical is always the best route.

Children: Debralyn 10/21/02, Logan 3/19/07, and Madeline 7/10/09 | Re: Kids and Music | | My kids listen to a lot of country w/ me, we dance to that. I personally like "Free to Be You and Me" because I listened to it when I was young with my mom every time we got in the car. The kids listen to classical music, and jazz a lot. Also other random lullaby CDs, Fairy tales on tape, and kid song CDs. |

Children: Six stepchildren (5 boys and a girl),3 daughter in laws, two granddaughters and one girl of my own | Re: Kids and Music | | The boys listen to mostly rock/metal. Casey listens to a bit of everything. Bekah hears alot of country, but we've got the rock cd's mentioned in another thread on order, should keep DH happy too - doesn't like having anything else on in the car.

 | Re: Kids and Music | | We let the boys listen to all different kinds of music. Now the music that is really raunchy I don't allow them to listen to. I just don't want them picking up things that I really don't want them exsposed to at their age. |

Children: Nichole | Re: Kids and Music | | I also think it is important that kids listen to all types of music. Ilisten to mainly country and rock. I don't let My dd listen to hip hop and rap, unles I know the song first and think it is appropriate. Irecently started listening to christian rock in the car with her. Ijust feel I should keep her innocent as long as I can. At 19 months she is innocent still why taint her.

Children: Jill born Jan 12, 1996 | Re: Kids and Music | | I am glad my daughter doesn't listen to hip-hip. I'll listen to just about anything, but hip-hop is something I can't connect with.
What I find interesting about hip-hop is that the music is primarily created by afro-Americans, but primarily consumed by caucasians Americans. The history of rock also gets is roots from the black culture. Clearly we can see who is the forerunners when it comes to music. |

Children: I want hav 5 kids after I get married, but not before | Re: Kids and Music | | I love Amerinca Idol! That is the best show ever! They have really good singers. Sometimes at the beginning they have some really bad singers who think they are good singers, but then Simon yells at them and tell them how really really realy bad they are.
