My husband and I are so busy with our jobs that we can't sometimes attend the needs of our two children so we decided to get a nanny. While searching for nanny through internet, I came across this nanny background check article that made me think twice. The article strongly suggest to conduct a background check before you hire the person to avoid future regrets. How much do you think this background check will cost? Is this really necessary? I need to hear some suggestions and advice. Thanks.

I looked at the website and I am skeptical. If I were hiring a nanny, I wouldn't use that as reliable source of information.

I wouldn't hire someone as a nanny without some sort of background check. I would talk to someone at the local police department and find out their suggestions for how to go about that. They can steer you toward the most reputable ways of doing such a check.

I agree with Teresa. If you seriously can't afford it. You could do your own mini check. Like calling all of their references. Checking into all of their past jobs, even talking to their neighbors kinda thing.
