Children: DD (newly 10) and DS (almost 12) | Strawberry Hemangiomas | | Does anyone have a child with a strawberry hemangioma? My DS had 3 fairly prominent ones when he was little (forehead, arm and knee). Our ped. assured us they would gradually fade with time. He was right. They disappeared by the time he was in Gr. 2. Just thought I'd share, in case any one is worried, like I was. Hemangioma - DrGreene.com

| Re: Strawberry Hemangiomas | | Is that similar to a Port Wine Stain?
I have a student with one under her eye, she's 13...it has faded a bit since I started teaching her (at 6), but it's still there. |

Port Wine stains are different than Hemangiomas, and from what I understand, are usually permanent. There is more info about them at the link I posted above. |

Children: 2 children, Debra Lyn, and Logan (Bubba) Michael | Re: Strawberry Hemangiomas | | both of children had red patches on the backs of their necks that appeared when they were about a month old. They were smooth. With Debra lyn I was so scared that her father or I had hurt her because it was almost purple. the doctor told me it was a stawberry marking and it would probably go away. Her's is about gone as far as I can tell...it takes a lot of looking to find traces of it but her hair line also covers most of it, but Logan's is still there and pretty dark

| Re: Strawberry Hemangiomas | | My daughter has a hemangioma on her scalp. It grew during her first year and is about the size of a small pencil eraser. You can see it easily when standing above her because her hair is so fine.
My son had a stork bite/nevus simplex/salmon patch on the back of his neck at birth. It has completely faded away. |

Children: Taylor, Kylee, Emylee, Kenna | Re: Strawberry Hemangiomas | | My 2 youngest daughter's had them. The 2 1/2 yr. old had 3. One on her head, one on her side and one on her knee. The one on her knee is the only one left. The 20 month old has one on her head. The doc told us that they go away before they are 1 yr. old (that was with the 20 month old). I said really? because she still has her's (pointing at my 2 yr. old). They have faded alot and I am sure they will eventually be gone.

Children: 1 3-year-old boy | Re: Strawberry Hemangiomas | | my brother had a HUGE raised one on his neck. He was probably in his teens by the time it faded and reduced to just a slight discoloration and different texture of skin.. |

Children: One boy 8, twin girls 7. | Re: Strawberry Hemangiomas | | My littlest twin has a freckel on her back, I tell her it's an angel kiss. It has gotten bigger as she grows and its harmless. So it's kinda like a birth mark freckel |
