Default Your Baby Can Read

I just thought this looked cool. I watched an infomercial for a half an hour yesterday about these DVD's and other stuff called "Your Baby Can Read". I'm not one to advertise, lol, but I truly believe that there's a window in which a baby can learn to read just like they learn to talk when their brains are still working the fastest - as a baby and toddler. My mom did some of this stuff on her own when I was little and I could read at four. I'm no super genius, guys. I think anybody could do it with the right exposure. I've seen other kids do it too.

I want to do this with Eli too, but all I've found so was books telling you what to do to teach them. They're cool and all, I even bought one and read it. But it's still not that easy to do on your own. Then I saw this commercial and it actually has DVD's! And you can buy special cards that go along with them and flip books or whatever. I don't know if it works, but it seems like it would be easier to go by than making stuff up out of reading a book.

As for me, I found that all that stuff together was kind of expensive. SoI'mDownloadingIt lol don't tell anybody I'm bad. Just wanted to tell you guys about it. They have a website too, it's just Teach your baby to read with DVDs, Videos, and Books | Your Baby Can Read! I think.

Hope it's okay I told you about it. I think it's neat.

I second the recommendation. The DVDs are neat, aside from showing the words and saying the words they manage to show them in songs so it does keep the kids entertained while they are learning.

I got them off Netflix if I recall correctly.

My mom says I could read at 3...it confused my folks as to how I could do it, because essentially I did it on my own...then it dawned on my Mom what it was.

Sesame Street.

As well, it seems to be working very well for K too.

Sesame Street. WordWorld. SuperWhy. Ton's of great programming out there available for entirely free. As for the not free stuff, NetFlix has a good selection of children's dvds - not free, but not $20 a pop either

Googled "your baby can read" and found this article by accident: Expert says: A baby can read and write - International Business Times -

Yeah, I watched Sesame Street too! Definitely agree with that. I'll check out Netflix.

And I just think it's cool, because a lot of kids that don't start thinking about it till kindergarten have so much trouble with beginning to learn it at that time. I think five is kind of late to start! They can learn as babies! Or at least get a head start.
