Default pdd-nos

Does anyone know anything about this pdd. My daughter she is 3.5 very quirky, diagnosed with sensory processing last year, she also sees a speech therapist for her verbal skills and ability. Today we went to a developmental pediatrition and he said that she is atypical autism and pdd-nos. I don't know just wanted to know if anyone had any additional sites or help they can give me. I know these dr's are sometimes so quick to label. thanks

I know nothing of PPD (what does it stand for?)

You might want to try Singing Lessons too, it's fun and works wonders for verbal skills and pronunciation.

PPD = Pervasive Developmental Disorders. These are disorders on the autism spectrum. They include autistic disorder, Asperger's, Rett's, Childhood disintegration disorder, and PPD-NOS. NOS is "not otherwise specified" and it applies for a constellation of issues that don't quite fit any of the others in the autism spectrum.

Ymann, I don't have any answers for you, although my nephew has Aspergers and ADHD. But there a ton of sites on the web for info and support. You can Google "PPD-NOS" to pull them up. Here's a few:

- Emory University Autism Center
- New York State Department of Health
- iVillage's PDD-NOS/Asperger's support message board

I don't know a whole lot about PDD-NOS, but my nephew was diagnose with this when he was 3. He was very behind in his speech and had some of the symptoms of Autism. When he was 7, he had caught up in his speech and his diagnosis was changed to Asperger's Syndrome.

I'm not sure where you're from, but check these sites out
