np, I thought maybe you had it mixed up. I mean I don't know if the letter was the best way, but I don't see it as a bad way either

How sad. The girl is only 14, a baby herself.

i think i agree and disagree with this post.
I agree that she clearly was freaked out and she may or may not had a support system at home. she could have had a fantastic support system, but was scared to bring it up (as most kids are).
I disagree that "think it is a result of being sexually active over extended period of time. And it could be the result of living in a home where sexual abuse is occurring." There is no doubt that the possibility of her being sexually active for several months or possibly years before her getting pregnant is possible, but there is no need to classify her under that stereotype. For all we know she could have been a virgin.
To tie in this post with the second part of this post, kids will have sex no matter what. I would have thought that maybe kids who are being abused sexually may go either way with sex. One way of course is to take their frustrations and hurt on another by dominating them in some sexual act. OR stay away from it, because all it does is bring up memories.

If she was so intimidated/scared by her parents to come talk to them, or (beacuse i think they said they said that she didn't know she was pregnant in the first place, which i find hard to believe) go talk to someone do you think that maybe it is partly the parents fault for not establishing a better connection with their daughter? Had they been in a more understanding and open relationship communication wise, do you think that this still would have occurred?
