Thanks Tom!

All, we are having trouble conceiving our second child, and I have been wondering if anybody else has been through this? The first was so easy! I have never been so thoroughly frustrated! Any thoughts?

I had this problem (it's commonly referred to as secondary infertility). My children are 6 years apart; I had difficulty getting and staying pregnant the second time around. I had no idea that it was possible to have fertility issues after getting pregnant so easily the first time. One of the pieces of advice given in this situation is to not wait the typical year to ask a doctor for help but only 6 months. I also read a great book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". It was kind of my bible for a while.

Children: I have two young daughters
Default Re: Pre-Conception Forum

I am having concerns about this as well. When my second daughter was born I had an IUD put in as our form of birthcontrol. Getting pregnant with both of my daughters happened quick and easy. Our first daughter wasn't planned, but our second daughter was. Within a month of trying I got pregnant. I teased and told my husband he had super sperm. lol We have been talking about having one more in hopes of getting a boy. I am a big fan of having a big family. I don't want to have anymore until both of my girls are at least in school. Emi is 2.5 and Mea is almost 1. So we are talking a good 4+ years before we are planning to have another child. The problem is, my husband is 12 years older than me. He is getting ready to turn 37 next month. In four years that puts him at 41. At what age do men start having fertility problems?? Is it possible to get pregnant that easy again???
