Default Re: 13 month old vocabulary

I know. They are a little concerned, but not too much since she is clearly understanding words and direction.

I haven't bothered to look up any possible reasons for this...but I'm sure if it doesn't improve in another 6 months or year, they will have no choice but to look into things.

I've heard that some kids are just slow, and then one day...*poof!* All the words just come out in perfect sentences.

Children: 2 children, Debra Lyn, and Logan (Bubba) Michael
Default Re: 13 month old vocabulary

Debralyn was very very vocal...she has always had a very large vocabulary, way to mature for her age...and she understands what she's saying, it can be a real pain sometimes. She started speaking very clear sentances right after her first birthday. That being said everybody I know had kids who hit their milestones at very different paces. I wouldn't worry if Logan was only saying a few words at 2 any more than I expect him to speak by one. He says mama, dada, and baba...plus a lot of babble right now. I try not to compare my kids to eachother or anybody elses really....As long as they are hitting their milestones I could care less ya know...I'm proud of EVERYTHING they do...lol

I think his vocab is wonderful. I wouldn't say he is a genious lol, but when you said he was behind doing other things, thats why. Kids typicallylearn one thing at a time. Either physical, or verbally kind thing.

Nichole was also talking like that at that age. And even now she is a great talker.
So be very proud you have a talker!!!!

Be proud Mom! Hannah was a really fast talker too but she had two older sisters and Mommie and Daddy talking to her.
