Default Anyone have any suggestions on a feeding schedule/amounts of a 6 month old??

Hi. I am a first time mom and am just getting into the swing of things with solids. He just started them a few weeks ago and so far so good. My question is Im not sure how much to feed him, I dont want to overfeed him or underfeed him. He weighs 18 pounds. Pretty much what I have been doing on a daily basis is as follows:

breakfast--rice cereal mixed with 1/2 jar of stage 2 fruit then I give him the remainder of the jar of fruit, 1/2 jar of stage 2 veggies and a 4 oz bottle formula

lunch-1/2 jar of stage 2 fruit, 1/2 jar of stage 2 veggies, 4-6 oz bottle formula

dinner-6 oz bottle formula, 1/2 jar of stage 2 fruit, 1/2 jar of stage 2 veggies

before bed: 8 oz bottle of formula

He usually sleeps through the night but sometimes he wakes up and he will get another 4 oz or so of formula

Let me know if you guys think this is too much, not enough? Im not sure how much food he should be getting. Id appreciate any suggestions or if you want to share your feeding schedule with me that would be great!! Thanks!!!!!!

Looks good to me. I fed my kids until they no longer wanted to eat. Neither are over weight. I didn't start my kids on Stage 2 foods until older, but I didn't start solids until 5-6 mos.

Lots of info here:

to me it was too much, but I didn't start solids till 5 1/2 months either. So Nichole only ate once a day until she was abot 7 months old, then twice a day till about 9 months then 3 meals a day. Of course I am not referring to breastmilk (or formula in this case)
I don't think you are doing anything wrong though, just saying that it is more then I gave at 6 months.

The only other thing I can add, is at 6 months, give him his bottle first (how ever much you give 4oz I guess) then feed him solids till he doesn't want anymore. Babies do not NEED solid food till 1 year of age. For nutrition that is. It is to introduce them to eating and textures and such. His MAIN nutrition should come from his formula until one year of age!

I was rereading a bit and I thought I would suggest maybe only fruit and cereal at breakfast, and only a veggie at dinner...seems like you are opening and going through a lot of baby food...also if you make your own it's fun to create some really nice mixes for them
