Question Excercise during pregnancy


Hi All! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good pregnancy excercise video. My goals are to tone my arms and legs. I'm a first time mom so I'm unsure as to what may be good or proper as far as excercise. I really liked The Firm videos before I became pregnant. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I dont know of any video's but I do know that just going for light walks help, even if it does not tone, you are still burning, Hope this helps.

If you've been doing "The Firm" all along, you should be able to continue them without any problems

I like Prenatal Pilates. It's a workout geared specifically toward pregnant women. Whatever you do, I would suggest that you try videos that are for pregnant women, to be sure it's a safe workout. This will matter more as your pregnancy progresses.

That sounds nice, prenatal pilates, I always thought to keep it simple and safe, especially when you are months along, but I know most women who still go to the gym while in their 3rd term.

My wife is doing prenatal pilates with a private coach. My cousin, who is a doctor, explained that pregnant women should keep building their strength and stamina up during the pregnancy. It helps with the strain of the birth.

My doctor also said that exercise during pregancy is beneficial. She also recommended walking, or doing excercise specifically geared toward pregnant women. You just have to be careful not to over-extend yourself, because as your tummy grows, your center of gravity changes and your balance will be affected.

Pregnancy can be a challenging phase for to be mom. Maintaining a healthy posture will help her keep back problems away. An exercise routine will especially help her to keep fit. Pregnant woman can begin an exercise routine even if she has never really exercised before. Walking, swimming, pre-natal yoga, and simple aerobics are ideal forms of exercise during pregnancy.
