My friend J came to me and said she "feels" pregnant, but has started her period, she has 3 children already and says she knows what her body feels like when she's pregnant. She asked me if it is possible to be pregnant and still have a period. The only answer I could give her is that I've hear that it is possible to bleed during like the first 2 months of a pregnancy but it's not a period and it is usually lighter. But she says it is just like her normal period... Can this be? Also she asked when she should test for pregnancy? (now I don't have the answer to that) Does anyone have any advice I can give her?

Children: Nichole | Re: I just don't have the answers | | yes you can have bleeding and be pregnant. My best friend is now 21 weeks pregnant. Now she found out right away that she was pregnant but still bled like a normal period. Sonce she knew she went to the ER, and everything was fine. She had a bloodclot on her uterus. She ended up with essentually a period every month for the first 3 months. She would bleed for a week, then nothing for 3 weeks, then bleed again.
I would tell her to take a test.
Also it is possible that she is having a miscarriage. Most woman will have then and not even know it |

The first step would be to test to see if shes pregnant. If she tests negative, then she might want to talk about her feelings with her doctor. Who knows, perhaps there is another reason shes having these symptoms and they might be serious. |

She said she took a test like a week ago and got nevative results but she started a day before she was supposed to normally start. She asked if she should test even though she is still bleeding... I said I don't see why not.

Jessica got a pregnancy test from the store last night and tested positive!!!! She went to see her doctor this morning (I got to tag along - how fun) They gave her an ultrasound and everything and everything is fine, she just is bleeding and its because her uterus started to shed the linning but it's nothing to worry about... She is 4 weeks pregnant due June 26th, I told her to come join us on this site so look out for her. Oh and she is wishing for a girl she has 3 boys!
